The Presbyterian Church of Taiwan will celebrate its 140th anniversary titled ‘Shine our land, treasure Taiwan’ this June 5.

The celebration will be held in six regions of Taiwan including Taipei, Chang Hua, Cha yi, Kao hsiung, Hua lien and Tai Tung on June 5. The presbytery estimated that 100,000 believers will attend.

The headquarters of Presbyterian Church of Taiwan held a press conference on May 31 introducing the history of the Taiwan mission. Pastors who attended include Rev. Chen Xin Liang, Chen Yu Quan, Luo Rong Guang, Lin Zong Zheng, and Pan Qing Zhang.

Pastor Chen Xin Liang explained that the mission of Taiwan started through medical ministries with visions to love God, love the people and love the land. Eversince it has been developing actively.

Pastor Chen Yu Quan also presented the progress of The Presbyterian Church of Taiwan. For the past 10 years in the 4th decade, it has grown from 466 churches to 1228 churches, and believers increased from 10,000 to 22,000. In addition, two universities were built.

During the presentation, Pamphlets on the Thanksgiving service and a series of activities on June 5 were handed out.

At last, the President of Presbyterian Church of Taiwan Pastor Rong Guang Law, encouraged Taiwanese Christian families to take part in holding 15 minute prayers in candle light for Taiwan and reveal the light of Christ.
