The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) will celebrate its 140 years anniversary, and from March 5 to March 7 a special retreat will be held at Saddleback Church, which was founded and led by Dr. Rick Warren. The theme of the retreat is "The Purpose Driven Life for 40 Days." During this time, PCT hope that new goals can be set for each ministries, the attendents can experience revival, and that continuing cooperation with the Christian Communication Limited can more effectively help the development of churches.
The retreat will be divided into three regions: north, middle, and south of Taiwan. Pastoral leaders from America's Saddleback Church as well as the local pastors and leaders will be invited to teach and preach there.
Based upon the turnout of last year retreat, more than 100 churches and 200 pastors attended the retreat. PCT hopes that through the retreat there will be revival in the Taiwan churches, and sufficient leadership training can be provided to guide others such as families, friends, and neighbors to the Lord. Through this they can find out about the direction and purpose to a purposeful life. Through this, the attendants will become more mature in their life of faith.
The director for the retreat, Pastor Zongzheng Lin said, "prayer is basic yet fundamental way to bring about a new movement. Each church should pray for church unity and society harmony."
Nation Prayer Information Center is in charge of coordinating the retreat. The purpose of it is to provide each church a place to share visions, biblical truth, and prayer topics. In addition, they have provided 20000 Daily Prayer books for pastors.
