The NBA trade deadline is only a couple of days away and one player that could be heading to the trading block soon is Brandon Knight of the Phoenix Suns. Although he has been struggling with the Suns this season, he could serve as an effective addition to the Brooklyn Nets or the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ever since Knight joined the Suns last year, fans of the athlete have seen a dip in his overall performance. This year, he's only averaging 12.6 points per game and just shooting 38 percent from the field.

Also, his performance has started affecting the whole team. Since he is a starter, Knight spends most of his time during games playing. This, actually, has been bad for the team. The Suns are actually scoring better whenever Knight is on the bench.

This is probably the main reason why the team recently named P.J. Tucker as the new starting guard of the Suns, according to Rotoworld.

But aside from not being an effective starting guard, another factor that could push Knight to the trading block is the team's current direction. Since the offseason, the Suns have pooled their efforts to draft and sign younger players to the roster.

Although Knight is still technically a young athlete, he is already a veteran on the league. However, it seems he still doesn't fit well with what the Phoenix franchise wants with its lineup.

If Knight does end up getting traded, one possible organization that would benefit in getting him is Brooklyn, according to CBS Sports. During the weeks when Jeremy Lin was sidelined due to an injury, Nets fans saw how the team struggled. It also showed the team's need to recruit a new guard.

Of course, if Knight gets traded to the Nets, he will most likely have to accept to role of a backup to Lin.

Another possible landing spot for Knight is in Philadelphia. Since the offseason, the 76ers have been dealing with a surplus of big men on their roster. With their guard bench lacking proper depth, the team will surely appreciate having a young guard who still has the potential to be a starter. In other words, signing Knight to the roster could create a good balance within the team's lineup.
