The Penguins (2-1) will meet the Blue Jackets (1-2) again at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. In Game 3, the Blue Jackets lost to the Penguins despite having the home-court advantage. The Penguins scored three goals in the third period to take the lead after trailing 3-1. The Penguins defeated the Blue Jackets by 4-3.

In Game 1, Blue Jackets led 3-1 in the second period, but gave up two quick goals, ending up with a 4-3 loss to Penguins. Forward Derek MacKenzie scored a goal and Brandon Dubinsky assisted on Jack Johnson's goal.

In Game 2, Blue Jackets rallied from a 3-1 deficit on Saturday to beat the Penguins 4-3 in overtime. The Penguins scored at a low rate of 1-for-8.
