PlayStation Plus Free Games for September 2015: The results of the first Vote to Play are in

The Vote to Play for September 2015 is in
"Grow Home" was the winner.  Sony PlayStation

Every month, PlayStation Plus subscribers look forward to seeing what free games will be available for the PS3, PS4, and PS Vita platforms.  The PlayStation Plus Free Games for September 2015 have been announced, and now it is only a matter of what is available for PlayStation Plus Free games for October 2015.  The new Vote to Play for August has been decided, and the runner-ups have a discount.

According to the PlayStation Blog, fans had a chance to vote on the next game for the PS4 with a Vote to Play campaign, and the choices include Armello, Zombie Vikings, or Grow Home.  According to the Steam Store, Armello is "a grim fairy-tale board game come to life. Full of swashbuckling adventure combining deep, tactical card play, rich tabletop strategy and RPG elements".  Zombie Vikings is described on its official website as "a new co-op 4 player stab-you-in-the-gut-a-thon with a dead funny adventure written by comedic genius Zach Weinersmith".  Then there is Grow Home, new to the PlayStation platform, where the player takes control of BUD, a procedurally animated robot on a quest to save his planet in many interesting and botanical ways.

The vote is in, and the choice for the PS4 was...Grow Home!  However, if you wanted to play Armello or Zombie Vikings, you can for a 30 percent discount that will start on September 1st and end on September 15.

As for the PS4 and PS Vita, there are two choices for this platform.  The first is Super Time Force Ultra, which is a side-scrolling action, shooter, and platformer where the player has 30 lives to run through levels of "bullet hell".  When the player dies or ends the run, the player can view and rewind their timestream in order to revisit the life of a prior player-character's run.

The other game available for the PS4 and PS Vita is Xeodrifter.  This is a game that is modeled after the classic Metroid game, and playing involves searching odd alien worlds in order to discover new secrets for making it home.

For the PS Vita, there is La-Mulana EX.  This is also a classic 2D platform with a definite Metroidvania type twist.  The PlayStation Store describes this game as "deep into the ancient ruins of La-Mulana on a quest to discover not just valuable treasure, but the secret to life itself".

PS3 and PS4 users will be given the opportunity to play in a world of steampunk and hand-drawn environments, solving puzzles with the power of electricity and magnets in the 2D platformer that is Teslagrad

Those on the PS3 will be given a classic treat with Twisted Metal, one of the longest running PlayStation exclusive franchises.  The game features a lot of vehicle-on-vehicle combat, with a whole lot of explosions.

So far, there isn't any word yet on what will be available for October 2015, and that goes for the Vote to Play as well.  Until then, enjoy what comes during September starting on the first Tuesday of September.
