It looks like 2016 is going to be the year for Virtual Reality, and with devices like the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive already out there, it will be interesting to see how a VR headset designed for gaming will do in a market that is small now, but about to get crowded.  In addition to the PlayStation VR, there is also going to be a lot of great games available.

Here is a list of games that are going to be made available, and will work with motion controllers and the PlayStation Camera.  We already made a list of other games available, but there will be others, and some of them are steeped in major franchises, according to Gotta Be Mobile as well as Wearable

Batman Arkham VR

Based in the same universe as those Batman: Arkham Asylum games, which is based on the darker video game version of the Dark Knight.  You will be playing Bruce Wayne, and will be wearing the cowl in this graphic novel inspired adventure.

Bound

This is an unusual type of platforming game that literally takes place in the main character's mind, sort of like Inside Out.  Like that Pixar film, it is about going through mental sceneries to recover memories.

Farpoint

This game looks like it is going to be a first-person shooter VR game.  The player has crash-landed on an alien world, and it looks like No Man's Sky.  Farpoint will have support for motion tracking PlayStation VR gun accessory.

Eve: Valkyrie

If you haven't heard of Eve, it is a space exploration MMO game, and this version is a player vs. computer simulation in something that also looks similar to No Man's Sky.

Battlezone VR

We already discussed this game in a separate article, and it is an update of the vector game that was at stand-up arcades back in the eighties.

Star Wars Battlefront X-Wing VR

This is very similar to the Star Wars: X-Wing game that was released in the early nineties, but it will release to owners of Star Wars Battlefront.  Yes, you will be behind the cockpit of an X-wing and take on the Empire.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood

This is a game that will completely immerse players in its world of horror, and it will be an exclusive to PlayStation VR.

Resident Evil VII Biohazard

Here's another horror game that is described as "the unsettling feeling presence to a level that horror fans have never experienced".  These are the type of horror games that could disturb you, and VR is going to make it immersive.

Grand Turismo Sport

This is a VR version of a racing game, which has the FIA Gran Turismo Online Championship with a real prize for players. This game will be launch on November 15 in the United States.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew

We have also talked about this game in a separate article, and you can take the role of a Federation officer.

Final Fantasy XIV

There is a lot of Final Fantasy news with Final Fantasy 15 coming, so you might as well get the one with it.  This is one of two MMORPG games in the Final Fantasy series, so it should be interesting.

The PlayStation VR will be available on October 13, 2016, for a price of $399, with the games at varied prices.  Most of these games will come out at that time unless notified.
