As the preparation of 7th Chinese Congress on World Evangelization (CCOWE) in Macau proceeds, the Chinese Coordination Center of World Evangelism (CCCOWE) requests for support of Chinese Christians in prayers.

According to the latest CCOWE newsletter, CCCOWE celebrates the active enrollment of the pentannual Congress from all around the world. Up till mid-March, the number of participants has reached over 2,100.

In order to serve the huge number of attendants, the preparation committee is trying to recruit as much volunteers as possible from Macau. The first session of training was held successfully on Feb. 26, about 500 volunteers coming from 56 local churches and para-church organizations have joined, CCCOWE reported.

Meanwhile, Rev. Chadwin Mak has been stationed in Macau to oversee the preparation of the whole congress. Rev. Lam Yam-man and other Macau co-workers liaise with the Macau government, and manage matters related to the venues, hotels and volunteers.

Some current projects during the preparation period are listed, including finalizing program, collecting sermon outlines, inputting participants' data, compiling congress handbook, organizing general affairs and others.

CCCOWE calls on prayers for the training sessions to be held to equip more volunteers and also for the wisdom and patience of CCCOWE coworkers.

The newsletter has highlighted the first ever English Parallel Track of the 7th CCOWE established for the new generation of the English-speaking ethnic Chinese. In the light of the rising need for this group, the world’s Chinese evangelicals have pioneered the path to nurture them.

While most of the participants of the English Track are expected to be coming from the U.S., CCCOWE urges to pray for the worldwide promotional activities organized by the International English Task Force (EFT).

Lastly, concerning the financial needs, there is a huge shortage of US$300,000 for the overall budget of the 7th CCOWE. CCCOWE therefore wishes to pray for generous offerings. The newsletter also reminds of the prayers for the incoming general secretary Rev. Morley Lee, who is now in Boston and will move to Hong Kong to prepare for the CCCOWE headquarters on April 24.
