In the midst of a series of pro-homosexual education agenda that threatens the second generation, a coalition of pro-family groups is going to join a campaign to investigate the risk in schools.

The American Family Association (AFA), Concerned Women for America, the Family Research Council and state chapters of pro-family groups such as Eagle Forum, have spearheaded campaign, which was first initiated by the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). A survey instrument known as the "Risk Audit" was developed by Mission America for Christian organizations, churches and parents to determine the risk over the second generation by introducing pro-homosexual clubs, programs, policies, or curricula in schools.

Monday, the California State Senate was due to vote on the controversial bill SB 1437 , the most recent example that reveals the crisis. The bill, once passed, will prohibit all negative messages about transsexuality, cross-dressing, bisexuality, and homosexuality or same-sex marriage on instructional materials, textbooks and school-sponsored activities. Pro-family groups and Christians are outraged and called it "indoctrination."

The concern over "gay infiltration" into schools and education curricula has been raised long ago. During the Annual Meeting last June, SBC has approved a resolution that warned parents of "collaboration by public school districts with homosexual activists." Thus, parents and churches were urged to "investigate their local school districts."

Dr. Bill Tam, the executive director of the Traditional Family Coalition (TFC), a California-based pro-family movement, lamented that parents and schools in California tend to keep silent in face of such crisis.

"Most schools are controlled by liberals in California, they don’t have to say no even though they are the receiving end of the legislation. In addition, most parents are not aware of the issue and they don’t really care much about it," he said.

Steve Crampton of AFA Center for Law and Policy echoed, "Promotion of the homosexual agenda to our children may be the single greatest threat to public schools in America today, but most parents don’t even know it is happening."

Tony Perkins of Family Research Council also commented, "The insidious alliance between some school administrations and homosexual activists has been hidden from parents for far too long."

Therefore, the "Risk Audit" is expected to be an important method to counteract the progressing liberal agenda. Crampton described it as "the right response at the right time."

"This Risk Audit will be an excellent tool for parents to use to discover if their school is promoting the homosexual lifestyle and to what extent it is being promoted. Those who promote this deadly lifestyle in our nation's public schools have advanced their agenda unimpeded for too many years and too many children are paying the price," said Diane Gramley, president of AFA.

Pro-family groups have called on parents’ participation and to be well-informed. "I encourage all parents with children in public and private schools to use this Risk Audit to discover just what their children are being exposed to behind the schoolhouse door," Gramley continued.
