From May 6 to May 7, Dr. Stephen Tong spoke at the ‘Who is Christ?’ mission conference, where over a thousand people attended, many of who are non-Christians, in Ohio Statehouse, Columbus City. This is the largest Chinese mission conference ever held in this city. Already on the first day, over 60 people decided to devote their lives to Christ.
Columbus City Chinese Christian Mission director, Yan Fong Su shares, “Thank the Lord, all of the Chinese-Americans in the mid-west can attend this kind of large mission conference, and many have become the Lord’s citizen, dedicating their lives to serve the Lord.”
For the first time, Chinese Churches in the mid-west united and worked together to hold this mission conference.
The theme “Who is Christ?” is the main topic of Rev. Tong’s 2005 mission tour. It means that the gospel of Christ needs to be focused upon the life of Jesus. Rev. Tong clearly pointed out that only Christ is God, but the scholars in the East and West are still human even if they are Saints. Thus, Rev. Tong encourages everyone to learn the way of Jesus Christ, revealing and proclaiming the truth in the end times.
This is the second time that Rev. Tong visited Columbus City. The first time was 21 years ago in 1984, and the second time would be now. In addition, Rev. Tong plans to visit the City of Columbus once more in 2007.
This year’s mission tour consists of conference in San Francisco Indonesian Gospel Church from May 3 to May 5, Columbus Chinese Christian Church, and New Orleans Formosa Evangelical Church on May 10.
A month later, the Chinese-American churches in Columbus City will hold a meeting to review and plan more activities to allow more people to come to know Christ.
