The '80s singer Richard Marx is currently being hailed a hero as pictures of him subduing an unruly passenger in a Korean Air flight circulated the internet. The Grammy-award winner is traveling together with his wife, Daisy Fuentes, from Hanoi, Vietnam to Seoul, South Korea.

Fuentes posted the incident on Twitter stating that a crazy man next to them just suddenly attacked flight attendants and fellow passengers.

"When he started pushing the female staff and pulling them by the hair [Marx] was the first to help subdue him," she stated. She added that she felt "horrible for the abuse the staff had to endure" as no one knew the incident could happen. Still, she quipped that the staff did not fully control the guy and appeared at a lost in the situation.

The 34-year-old crazy passenger got loose from the staff's restraints three times. The stewardesses did not know how to use the taser and had a difficult time securing the rope that was used to tether the man safely on his seat. In the photos the couple presented, the tied passenger was still kicking the staff even though he was restrained.

Marx helped the staff to subdue the passenger as they could not fully handle the situation. The incident lasted for four hours and police boarded the plane after it landed on Seoul at Incheon Airport to capture the man.

"No big 'hero' move at all. Just did what I would hope anyone would do in same situation," Marx tweeted. He also reiterated that the staff is 'ill-equipped' to handle the situation.

Marx tweeted his followers that they have an entire video of the incident. In his Facebook page, Marx also recounted the violent encounter with the passenger.

"The all female crew was clueless and not trained as to how to restrain this psycho and he was only initially subdued when I and a couple other male passengers intervened... Korean Air should be sanctioned for not knowing how to handle a situation like this without passenger interference," he said.

The South Korean man was said to be drunk when he hit a passenger in the face and started to cause a commotion. The man reportedly drank 2 1/2 shots of liquor which led to his intoxication. The police stated that they released the man because he was too drunk to answer for the interrogation. They will just summon him to resume questioning regarding the incident, according to Yonhap News.
