Before the holidays, Lara Croft made a ground-breaking return to video games with Rise of the Tomb Raider.  The game has achieved a lot of accolades, including 9 nominations for the DICE Awards, and the Lara Croft character herself has been around since video games of the nineties, starring in two movies played by the one and only Angelina Jolie.  Like most favorite video games, there is some downloadable content (DLC) available, and Rise of the Tomb Raider will have another story expansion with "Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch", and this is what is known about the DLC and its release date.

According to GameSpot, Rise of the Tomb Raider's upcoming story expansion, "Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch", is going to contain "hours" of gameplay, with Lara going up against new enemies in an entirely new tomb.

The expansion's official description reads:  "This adventure expands the story of the main campaign with Lara facing deadly new adversaries, exploring a new puzzle-filled tomb, and solving a decades-old mystery, all culminating in a showdown with an ancient and mythic evil. [The DLC] includes a new outfit, and a new bow."

According to Eurogamer, "Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch" will put Lara Croft in a forest presided over by the mythical Baba Yaga, a creature from Slavic folklore that lives in a cottage set atop a pair of giant chicken legs.

This is not Rise of the Tomb Raider's first DLC, as the first was "Endurance Mode", which was a score-attack challenge based on surviving the elements for as long as possible.  There will be a third DLC called "Cold Darkness Awakened" that will have wave-based survival challenges, and it will arrive sometime in 2016.

The Rise of the Tomb Raider's expansion set "Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch" will arrive on January 26th for the Xbox One, and the PC Launch will be a few days later on the 28th of January.  For those that have the Season Pass, it is included. It doesn't look like the DLC will be coming to the Xbox 360.

There is an apparently some Microsoft exclusivity deal so that the Rise of the Tomb Raider game was released for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 first.  It was surprising that this game was even available for the Xbox 360, but apparently Nixxes Software is in charge of porting it over.  As for when it will be released to the PS4 (it might be best to assume that a PS3 version isn't being made), it will be after the "prime selling season", but there isn't any sign of it so far.  It is predicted to appear on the PS4 platform sometime in Q4 2016, just in time for the holiday season this year.
