Square Enix, the developer of the popular gritty survival-action style game franchise Tomb Raider, is teasing something Rise of the Tomb Raider related for Monday, June 1.

The tease was posted on the Tomb Raider Facebook page with the following: "Mark your calendars for Monday, June 1."

We do not know what Square Enix, Microsoft or Crystal Dynamic will announce on Monday. It could be new details about the game, an official release date or a brand new trailer.

What could be so important that Square Enix has to tease the loyal fans of the mega successful Tomb Raider franchise that they have to have a major announcement on June 1. Microsft has already promised to provide more information on the upcoming Rise of the Tomb Raider during its own press conference in Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 that will happen on June 16-18, 2015. Even Square Enix will have its own press conference during the E3 convention.

Speculators are saying that since Rise of the Tomb Raider will be a timed Xbox exclusive, all major announcements, including the first official appearance of the much-anticipated game, would be shown in Microsoft's E3 presentation.

However, gaming fans who do now own Xbox can look forward to playing Rise of the Tomb Raider once the timed exclusivity contract expires, said Game Rant. It added that this is not the first time that Microsoft has published a game exclusively for Xbox and later issued a version for PlayStation and PC platforms.

The report cited the release of Mass Effect which was published by Microsoft as an Xbox 360 exclusive first, but later EA Games published a version for PC and PS3 platforms.

Nothing much was released about Rise of the Tomb Raider, particularly the gameplay of the next installment. The game's official trailer has shown Lara Croft dealing with post traumatic stress from the events of the 2013 reboot. It also showed a glimpse of what the actual gameplay would be.

Fans are intrigued by what the storyline of the Rise of the Tomb Raiders as well as its features. What we do know so far is that Lara Croft will be seeking out a mythical city called Kitezh. Our hero will have access to new tools in solving the much large and more complex tombs in the next series.

Xbox One posted on its web site said that in the first installment of the Tomb Raider, Lara Croft was introduced to forge herself as a true survivor. But our hero wanted a deeper and more secret world.

"In the next chapter of her journey, Lara [Croft] must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider. Featuring epic, high-octane action moments, Rise of the Tomb Raider will take gamers to multiple locations around the world filled with exploration spaces that are some of the most beautifully hostile places on earth. In addition, after hearing the cry from fans loud and clear, the game will put the tombs back into Tomb Raider, all in the franchise's gritty survival-action style," Xbox One said.

Let us wait on Monday on what the major announcement would be. Let us hope it will give us fans a more extensive look at Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available in the market this Holiday 2015 exclusively to Xbox One and Xbox 360. Square Enix has yet to decide the availability of game to other game consoles like PS4, PS3, and PC. You can also watch the trailer of Rise of the Tomb Raider here.
