Android 7.0 Nougat was first introduced to Google devices last year, and until now, there are still many hardware manufacturers out there who have yet to deliver the Android 7.0 Nougat update to their respective pieces of hardware. Well, while Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 8 will most certainly ship with Android Nougat (Android 7.0 or Android 7.1, that remains to be seen), how about their older devices? We do know that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge are now running on Android 7.0 Nougat, and it is with great aplomb that we announce how the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are now part of the Android 7.0 Nougat bandwagon, too. At least all of the rife speculation concerning the Android 7.0 Nougat update’s appearance on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge can be put to bed.

It appears that the Turkish division of Samsung has revealed a detailed list of all the devices which will be on the receiving end of the Android 7.0 Nougat update. Not only do we look forward to mention of the update’s availability rather than to rely on rumors, but we are also very pleased to hear that the exact release date has also been listed down as well. This would go a long way in alleviating any kind of anxiety among users, that is for sure.

To sweeten the deal, it seems that the revealed list from Samsung Turkey has also featured devices which originally, were not meant to be on the receiving end of the Android 7.0 Nougat update. This is just pure good news to say the least. Of course, apart from the Galaxy S6 series to pick up some Nougat goodness, it is nice to know that those who are rocking to the aged Galaxy Note 5 as well as the Galaxy A and Galaxy J series, too (models from the years 2015 and 2016) will be in with a shout.

Tansu Yeğen from Samsung Turkey was the one who published a somewhat identical list, which was obviously removed online shortly afterwards. This was to be expected, but thankfully, the Internet has a memory now, and there is nothing quite like quick fingered folks who have captured a screenshot of the available dates and release devices. It must be stressed, however, that the dates furnished would be valid for Turkey, although if it is good enough for Turkey, it would also be good enough for the rest of the world. In other words, look out world! The Android 7.0 Nougat update is set to land on your Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy A and Galaxy J series of smartphones!

The Galaxy Note 5 will pick up Android 7.0 Nougat this March 6, which is a week later after the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge pick up Android 7.0 Nougat on February 27. As for the Galaxy A3 2016, Galaxy A5 2016 and Galaxy A7 2016, they will obtain the Android 7.0 Nougat update on April 24 and May 22, respectively. Last but not least, smartphones labeled under the Galaxy J series will be on the receiving end of the update from this July onward, going all the way until November.
