Whenever a particular device gets closer and closer to its particular release date, you can be sure that there will be more and more rumors released which will set tongues wagging. Even more so if that device is pretty high profile. The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) will most probably be on its way to the market already, as it has now received certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA). It is not only the single SIM model of the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) that has picked up its Wi-Fi certification, but also the dual SIM models -- also known as the SM-A520F and SM-A520F/DS, respectively.

This is basic logic, taking into consideration how Samsung has more or less remained pretty quiet on the release dates of its upcoming smartphones, does have its basis. Perhaps Samsung’s silence on the issue has to do with its recent Galaxy Note 7 fiasco that has caused quite a dent in the confidence of Samsung’s brand name, hence it might not be prudent of them to share with the masses just what will be released, and when.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) will be a smartphone that resides in the mid-range scheme of things, and as you can tell by the model name alone, this is one device that has its predecessors based on the same model name -- just a different year in which it was released. Certainly such a naming convention makes life far easier for us, don’t you think so? After all, it is not as though smartphone names are that easy to remember at the moment with a slew of different models being rolled out fast and furious.

Other Samsung Galaxy A Series smartphones that one can expect to see roll out from the South Korean conglomerate’s factories would be the Samsung Galaxy A4, Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017), the mentioned Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), and of course, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017). With the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) being introduced to the masses in December last year, it would not be too far off the mark to venture a guess that the Galaxy A5 (2017) would be released within a similar time frame this year.

In the certification process by the Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA) for both Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) single SIM and dual-SIM models (SM-A520F and SM-A520F/DS), they have been seen to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the operating system of choice -- which should not be a final indicator that you will have to wait for an Android 7.0 Nougat update since nothing is finalized yet. Other rumored Galaxy A5 (2017) hardware specifications point to a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 7880 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP shooter at the back, a 3,000mAh battery, a microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi Direct support, Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, NFC capability and GPS navigation ability.

In terms of pricing, the hardware should pretty much cost the same as that of its predecessor when it hits the market. After all, there is a limit as to how high a mid-range smartphone will cost until customers reel away.
