The Samsung Galaxy Fold is the latest consumer electronics communications device from the South Korean conglomerate that has certainly impressed its users. After all, a full screen tablet that folds in half without any creases appearing on it is certainly worth checking out. Initial reviews that have come in for the Galaxy Fold have been positive, and packing a slew of high end specifications underneath the hood, you can be sure that the sky high price tag is not going to deter its sales figures. After all, modern day marketing has turned smartphones into more than just a communications tool, but an indispensable lifestyle device.

Despite being released not too long ago, Samsung has already introduced a software update for the Galaxy Fold in order to hone the device's performance even further. The Galaxy Fold's camera will benefit from this latest software update, gaining features found in the flagship Galaxy Note 10. One should certainly expect nothing less than the best for a $2,000 smartphone after all, right?

The software update that bumps up the Galaxy Fold's camera performance is said to roll out in France and the UAE at the moment. It is a rather strange choice to perform the roll out in those two countries, but as long as the rest of the Galaxy Fold worldwide market are on the receiving end of said update, there should not be any kind of protests or sense of disgruntlement. Unfortunately, Samsung has kept a tight lid on the exact timeline as to when the Galaxy Fold's software update will be released worldwide.

Galaxy Fold users in France and the UAE are able to download the new software update if they haven't done so already by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and install.

Get this: the Samsung Galaxy Fold comes with half a dozen cameras. Yes, that insane number of cameras put the likes of Huawei's P30 Pro to shame considering there are a mere four shooters on the China-made device. There are two 10MP selfie cameras to keep company an 8MP RGB depth camera, a 16MP ultra wide camera, a 12MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto camera that completes the entire roster.

Despite all of that high powered hardware, the Galaxy Fold's cameras have been limited in terms of performance by its software, which is what the latest fix intends to remedy. Those who are lucky enough to own the Galaxy Fold and have installed software version F900FXXU1ASJ4 realized that selfies gain a Night mode now, in addition to Live Focus mode for videos, AR doodle, and Super Steady recording in Hyperlapse mode.

In addition, the Galaxy Fold has said to pick up a brand new video editor that allows users to stitch together different videos into one, while adding their witty one-liners or captions accordingly.

This latest software update is a very welcome release by Samsung and continues to underline Samsung's efforts to bring all of their current generation flagship devices to be on par where possible. For instance, the Galaxy S10 range of cameras too, saw a bump in performance and caught up with the Note 10's camera features not too long ago. To have the company's most expensive (and coolest) device miss out on that would be unthinkable.

Of course, camera improvements are not the only things that were introduced by Samsung in the latest software update for the Galaxy Fold, as it will also be accompanied by general bug fixes and performance improvements to the device.
