Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) US Release Date, Specs and Price

Samsung recently released the 2016 editions of the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones in several Asian countries. These two budget-friendly smartphones sport has visually appealing metal frame. Now, some gadget lovers ask when is the U.S. release date of Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and J7 (2016). 

Earlier this year, Samsung introduced the improved Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 in China. After that, the handsets land on South Korea. In an IB Times report, it says the new latest additions in J-series will become available in India very soon.  

It is also worth mentioning that the Black Edition of Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is now available in Amazon France with €284.68 (around $325) price tag. As for its availability in the United States, tech experts says it will be released in the country sometime this year.

As for the specs of Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016), it sports a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen partnered with 720x1,280 pixels (282 PPI pixel density). Its body measures 145.8x72.3x8.1 mm in dimension and weighs 159 g. The handset is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. It is fueled with 3,100mAh of battery capacity. Users can also store a lot of files on the phone, thank its 16GB internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

This year's Galaxy J5 has a 13MP main camera with added features like f/1.9 aperture, 28mm, LED flash and autofocus. Its front-snapper has 5 megapixels with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash.

For the Galaxy J7 (2016), it sports a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED touchscreen partnered with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 PPI pixel density). Its body measures 151.7x76x7.8 mm in dimension and weighs 170 g. The handset is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core processor and 3 GB of RAM. It is fueled with 3,300mAh battery capacity. Just like the new J5, the J7 also has microSD slot. Its 16GB internal memory can be upgraded for up to 128GB.

The camera technology of J7 features 13MP main-snapper with f/1.9 aperture, 28mm, LED flash and autofocus. Its front camera has f/1.9 aperture and LED flash.

In related Samsung news, Counterpoint Research, based in Hong Kong, said Samsung dethroned Apple as smartphone's top brand. The South Korean phone makers have now 28.8 percent market share as of March this year. Apple ranks second with 23 percent market share.

Market analysts say Samsung's success was due to the early launches of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. These flagship devices are enjoying a 30 percent spike over last year.
