The South Korean tech giant confirmed that Galaxy Note 4 will start rolling out within October this year. There is still no official word from Samsung regarding when the unlocked edition will be available. Even so, T-Mobile has already announced a contest that lists the Galaxy Note 4 as the grand prize. This is perhaps the cheapest way to get the device.

According to GottaBeMobile, the estimated retail value for the unlocked-variant will be somewhere around $660-680, while U.S wireless providers may sell the Galaxy Note 4 for $299 with contract. Naturally, this information remains speculative at the moment.

However, what has been confirmed is that the Galaxy Note 4 sports very impressive specs. The mobile device comes with a 5.7-inch Quad-HD display. On the outside, the metal case has a soft-texture back. An S-pen is included, and is held in a slot on the back of the phone. There is a rear facing 16-megapixel camera along with a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Note 4 is powered by 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor with 3 GB of RAM. The device also has 32 GB of internal storage, and runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

For now, none of the confirmed carriers are offering the Galaxy Note 4 for pre-order at this time. Still, the major wireless service providers are likely to announce pre-order details in the coming weeks.

Besides unveiling the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung also introduced the curve-screened Galaxy Note 4 Edge. The two devices were showcased just days before the IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany. It is likely that both handsets will be featured at the world-famous tradeshow. This year's IFA conference is scheduled for Sept. 5 thru 10.
