Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 release date may be coming this fall, and is expected to boast high-end specs. Meanwhile, rumors of the so-called Galaxy Note 5 Edge are making the rounds on the internet.

Galaxy Note 5 Possible Release Date in September

Even though Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy Note 5 launch, the company has remained consistent with its release cycle. For instance, every Galaxy Note series device launched between September and October. The Galaxy Note 5 may start reaching stores in as early as September 2015.  

Samsung has also made it a habit to host special debut events leading up to the annual IFA conference in Berlin, Germany. This year's IFA is scheduled for September 4 thru 9. So, consumers may get their first glimpse of the Galaxy Note 5 at around that time frame. For now, the device exists mainly in the imagination of the rumor mill.

With that said, some of the latest gossip has revolved around the Galaxy Note 5 screen. Back in April, Phone Arena reported that Samsung has developed an Ultra HD 2160 x 3840 pixel display. The South Korean company apparently plans to incorporate their newest Super AMOLED display in all 2015 devices.

This has led many observers to assume that this technology will go into the Galaxy Note 5. Without official confirmation from Samsung, it is difficult to say whether this prediction will pan out. Still, the Ultra HD 2160 x 3840 pixel display is one of Samsung's newest hardware to date. So, it is not unreasonable for Samsung to start putting this hardware in their latest flagship.

Galaxy Note 5 Edge May Launch This Year

South Korean publication ETNews recently confirmed that Samsung is planning to launch one more edge device before the end of this year. The name of the new edge device remains a mystery.

However, BGR believes that the Galaxy Note 5 is going to be the likely platform for edge technology. The publication pointed out that the upcoming phablet is going to be Samsung's second flagship of the year. So, Samsung may create an edge version of the Galaxy Note 5. For the time being, this information remains in the realm of speculation.
