Right now, all eyes are looking to Las Vegas for what is the latest in technology as the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is in full swing. Whenever this event happens, many look to see if some of the latest rumors of the next big thing from Samsung and other smartphone manufacturers will happen. Chances are, there is probably some backroom where Samsung will have its latest flagship phone, but only to be seen by those who "need to know". This is the latest of Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge Release Date, Rumors, and Specs.

The latest rumors from Venture Beat include the screen size, which might not change for the S7 flat version, keeping its 5.1 diagonal display size and possibly making certain that the cases for the latest version fit (unless getting the consumer to purchase new cases each year is just better for business). As for the S7 Edge, that could have a larger curved display at 5.5 inches. Some reports have suggested as large as 5.7 inches, the size of the S6 Edge +.

As for the battery, it doesn't look like the user will be able to change the power source in this model as well, but both models are receiving a capacity bump of 3000mAh and 3600mAh for the S7 and S7 Edge (the current models for the S6 is 2550 mAh and 2600 mAh for the S6 Plus). It is possible that the wireless charging time could be very fast at 2 hours for the S7 and 2.2 hours for the S7 Edge.

As far as what the specs are on the camera, the main camera could be getting a downgrade to 12 Megapixels from the 16 found on the S6. This might sound like a terribly backwards step, but a f/1.7 aperture (compared to the f/1.9 on the S6) this could make for a better camera in low-light situations. There are also reports that the camera will be flush with the smartphone, eliminating what is being referred to as the "S6 hump". The front-facing camera is reportedly not changing at all.

Generally speaking, Samsung will wait until Mobile World Congress before it unveils the latest in the S series of phones. In 2015, it was the Galaxy S6 as well as the new Galaxy S6 Edge, so it is most likely that they will unveil the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge there. Mobile World Congress 2016 will take place in Barcelona, Spain during February 22-25, and Samsung will probably announce their latest flagship phone before the event even begins. It can be safely assumed that it will launch with Android 6.0 out of the box, even though the S6 and S6 Edge sill have not received their update.
