With all eyes on the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as well as its untimely recall due to battery issues, many tech fans have also wondered whether the South Korean company will still release the upcoming Galaxy S8.

The eighth generation flagship smartphone has already been surrounded with speculations and recent reports have come up with a number of features and specs that are expected to come with the Samsung Galaxy S8.

The new phone will reportedly carry a 12 and 13 MP dual-lens primary camera technology as well as an iris scanner. Such speculations began when a user on Chinese social media website, Weibo, posted details of the said smartphone.

As stated in the leaked information, Samsung will go for a dual lens camera feature similar to that of Apple’s new iPhone 7 Plus. The new shooter feature is likely to aid the tech giant in enhancing image quality for its new smartphone’s camera capture.

Such details also point toward the possibility that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with an 8 MP front-facing camera, which can be deemed a certain upgrade from the current 5 MP snapper of the Samsung Galaxy S7.

According to Tech Times, the new Samsung Galaxy S8 could be incorporated with an improved iris scanner similar to that of the Galaxy S7. Such feature will enable users to simply have a look at their device’s screen in order to have it unlocked. This added feature for security will likely be a much-enhanced feature for the upcoming Galaxy S8.

In addition, the upcoming flagship smartphone is suggested to come with a 5.5-inch screen and boasts 3840 x 2160 4K display capabilities. The new device will also likely to carry a Smart Glow feature, known as a circular LED placed on the primary camera as a means of notifying the user of phone activities.

Its curved edge display will be one of the phone’s most noticeable components whereas the 4K resolution is expected to enhance virtual reality experience with the use of the company’s VR goggles.

Samsung will also be unveiling a new Gear VR headset compatible with the USB-C alongside the current Galaxy Note 7, leading to rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S8 getting rid of the micro USB.

Additionally, the Korean tech giant is said to be conducting trials on the next-generation Exynos processor, reportedly to be named as the Exynos 8895. Such chip is rumored to be produced through a 10nm manufacturing process, which will be the first time for Samsung as the current Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 7 come with chips that are produced using a 14nm process.

In testing the new processor, Samsung was said to have been able to attain peak clock rates of 4GHz. If such new Exynos chip is truly capable of reaching such speed, it will likely be faster than the iPhone 7, allowing Samsung to achieve a greater advantage in terms of overall performance power.

According to speculations, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be revealed at the Mobile World Congress 2017.

Samsung is yet to make an official announcement on the production of the new smartphone as well as its release date, specs and features.
