Going into Week 15, the 49ers are placed 2nd in NFC West. They have unexpectedly defeated the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14's match. Although their pass yards and yards attained per game are ranked among the last in the league, SF's quarterback Colin Kaepernick has kept the team afloat with 16 touchdowns and 3 rush touchdowns. Meanwhile, running back Frank Gore has eight touchdowns and 931 rush yards. And wide receiver Vernon Davis has scored put down 11 touchdowns from Kaepernick's passes.

Buccaneers, on the other hand, are ranked 3rd among NFC South. Their stats so far have shown that they were just unprepared for this year's match. They have the second to the last number of yards per game on average. However, quarterback Mike Glennon has 11 touchdowns at 726 yards and Anquan Boldin has five touchdowns and 915 yards.
