Singer and Songwriter Kelly Minter Debuts as Author

Like the servants at the Cana wedding where Jesus turned water into wine, singer/songwriter and new author Kelly Minter has spent a lifetime serving water to those around her. Through her music, her ministry and now through her new book, Water Into Wine: Hope for the Miraculous in the Struggle of the Mundane, Minter is discovering how God is turning her talents into real-life miracles.

Water Into Wine, to be released on June 15, 2004 through WaterBrook Press, an imprint of Random House, Inc., uses the illustration of Jesus' first miracle to reveal the meaning behind even the most mundane things in life.

"Anyone who has read this book will agree that Kelly has wisdom beyond her years," comments WaterBrook Publisher Don Pape. "It seems ages ago that I sat in a crowded, very warm room on a Colorado summer evening and listened to Kelly speak to a group of Young Lifers. She was creatively exploring a Bible passage that I had turned to over and over again and yet had never discovered the insights that she had shared with us. Water Into Wine was birthed that evening and I'm thrilled that WaterBrook and Random House will publish it this summer."

In simple yet compelling language, Minter interweaves the story of the servants at the Cana wedding with snapshots from her own life. Often humorous and always engaging, Minter pulls from her own daily struggles and triumphs to illustrate the lessons she has learned from the servants in the Bible story.

In addition to her new book and current album, Wrestling the Angels (Cross Driven Records), Minter recently returned from Africa, where she served as a World Vision and CCM Magazine news correspondent for World Vision's "African Heart" trip. She was also a featured performer during World Vision's Tenth Anniversary Celebration concert during Gospel Music Association Week, and will be a featured performer and speaker at the upcoming Christian Booksellers Association International Convention in Atlanta.

As part of the extensive PR and marketing campaign for the book, Minter is slated to appear on the cover of Christian Single magazine in July.

Water Into Wine will be released by WaterBrook Press and Random House. In Canada, this title will be available through Foundation Distribution and also through Random House of Canada. Wrestling the Angels was released in late 2003 on Cross Driven Records, a division of Here To Him Music Group, LLC and is distributed by Provident Distribution.
