Skillet Prepares for Mainstream Release

Skillet is currently preparing its first mainstream release, set for May 25th. The album 'Collide' will feature the hits of the bands 2003 recordings as well as a bonus track recorded 2 weeks ago in Chicago. The song "Open Wounds" will be the band's 2nd mainstream radio single, and in 3 weeks, their first radio single "Savior" will be released.

In addition, the CD will feature some exclusive video footage, combining live performance video and backstage shots with interview segments.

"I have never been this excited about the band before because this will be the first chance we have had to be played to a big audience," says Skillet frontman John Cooper. "It's still all about the message and the mission, and it always will be."

Ever since 1998, Skillet has been looking to sign with a mainstream record label, but the deals all fell through. Lava Records, a division of Atlantic Records, signed with the band in February 2004.

At the same time, the band is touring in the "See Spot Rock" Tour until early May, before their album release.
