It is nice to know that games continue to receive updates after they have been in the market for some time. Certain updates are meant to improve gameplay by introducing a greater amount of balance, while others simply fix stuff that are considered to be “broken”. Having said that, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition has now received update 1.05 for the Sony PlayStation 4 which is touted to deliver a whole slew of improvements. The Skyrim Special Edition update 1.05 weighs in at 476MB which is pretty lightweight by today’s standards, and should not take too long to install, either. This is not the first time that such an update has been released, since it was rolled out on the PC earlier on prior to this. Xbox One owners, you might feel left out, but have a little bit of patience as Bethesda has also announced that the Skyrim Special Edition update 1.05 will be arriving on Microsoft’s console “soon”.

Better late than never is the mantra here, as it has certainly taken a while before Skyrim Special Edition picked up a patch. Well, it is nice to know that Bethesda would like to enhance its game that launched just last year. What are some of the goodies that can be found in update 1.05? There will be general fixes for starters, offering a greater degree of stability as well as superior performance. Apart from that, it will also handle some of the other specific issues which will certainly increase the playability of the game on an overall basis.

PlayStation Lifestyle claims that the update 1.05 patch that is now available for Sony PS4 and PC gamers will also be able to enjoy better support when it comes to 144Hz PC monitors. Not only that, the developers have also taken a look at log in issues over at Bethesda.net, while ensuring that whatever problems gamers faced when it comes to Slow Time effects that simply failed to function as it should, has been fixed. This brings about a far more stable performance for the game which ought to carve a smile on any serious Skyrim fan.

So far, those who have installed Skyrim Special Edition update 1.05 have not run into any issues. Normally, whenever there is an issue or problem concerning a new update or patch, the Internet would get a whiff of it pretty fast. This does not seem to be the case with update 1.05, which is a good thing. Perhaps the “curse” of patches causing issues and piling on the problems in Skyrim’s history has finally ended. In the past, specifically just a few months ago, Skyrim Special Edition had to endure technical issues on both the PC and console platforms which resulted in crashes as well as freezing of the game that is in session.

Bethesda does not seem to have any kind of plans lined up for a future Elder Scrolls title down the road. In fact, Pete Hines, Bethesda’s VP for Marketing and PR, has confirmed that. Will there by a Skyrim Special Edition for the upcoming Nintendo Switch? Only time will be able to reveal the answer.
