New San Diego-based Sparrow artist, Something Like Silas, launches its critically acclaimed brand of alternative rock-worship today with Divine Invitation.

With its name inspired by a passage in Acts (6:23-34), Something Like Silas is a band of culturally in-tune rockers determined to close the gap between the passionate adoration of Christ and the passionate performance of exciting, moving, artful music. Capturing the passion, the national debut was produced and engineered respectively by heralded alternative rock veterans and The Choir members, Steve Hindalong (City On A Hill) and Derri Daugherty.

Known up and down the West Coast and beyond for its live worship experience, the band performs a CD release event tonight at a large mainstream club in San Diego, SOMA, and continues its release week tour in Los Angeles (Orange, CA 6/16), San Jose (Los Gatos, CA 6/18), Sacramento (6/19) and more.

While touring heavily this summer and fall, the band can still be found leading worship most Sundays for nearly 3,000 people at the emerging church in San Diego called Flood, a church they helped found four years ago. The band also recently returned from a mission trip with Flood, playing for over 100,000 people at soccer stadiums in Malawi, Africa.
