Images allegedly showing the Sony Xperia Z3 are making the rounds in gossip circles, ever since they were released on Thursday.

These latest leaked photos are from EVleaks, whom has released two images of the fabled device on his Twitter feed. The photos show only the front and the side of the mystery phone, which seems to have a Gorilla Glass exterior. This is the same material used in the current-gen Xperia Z2 smartphone.

EV Leaks' images are similar to photos leaked two weeks ago. Even so, it is not clear if both photo sets are showing the same device.

According to the notable leakster, the Xperia Z3 will be powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, rated at 2.4 GHz. However, other sources argue that the Xperia Z3 comes with the Snapdragon 805 processor. Until the Xperia Z3 is released, it is difficult to know who is right.

Sony's upcoming flagship may also include an Adreno 330 GPU, along with a 5.15" screen with 1080p resolution. Regarding software, the Xperia Z3 may come installed with the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, which has just begun rolling out.

For memory, the device may have 3 GB RAM with 16 GB of internal storage. The rumored device may sport a 20.7 megapixel camera and a second front-facing 2.1 megapixel camera.

The Xperia Z3 is said to be replacing the current-gen Xperia Z2. As Sony's flagship device, the Xperia Z3 is expected to go head-to-head with Apple's highly-anticipated iPhone 6 smartphone.

At this time, Sony has yet to confirm a release date for the Xperia Z3. Still, there have been rumors that the tablet will be making an appearance in September at the upcoming IFA conference in Berlin, Germany.
