The much-awaited device from Sony is set to arrive next year. Online reports also said that Xperia Z6 might come in five different versions to cater the needs of all gadget lovers. Here's what we know so far about Sony Xperia Z6's release, specs and features.

Digital Spy published that the sixth-generation of Sony Xperia Z series will have a new high-end look and feel. The latest gadget from Sony will ditch the flat-backed, heavily fragmented edge of its predecessors. Reports said that Z6 will move to a more curvaceous metal design.

Several critics said the previous Sony Xperia designs were hardly amusing. They called it "boxy" and "bland." With the new design and look, the phone manufacturer hopes that it will hit the market by storm.

The five variants of the phone come with the standard base model, Xperia Z6 Mini, Xperia Z6 Plus, and Xperia Z6 Ultra, Vine Report published.

It is believed that the different versions of the phone will have several specifications to choose from that will not just account to the sizes of the display.

Xperia Mini Z6 will become the least powerful among five phones. It will have a 4.0-inch screen and Snapdragon 620 processor. For the other four Xperia Z6, they will be powered with the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset for faster processing performance. The other four variants will also have a display sizes ranging from 5.6-inches to 6.4-inches.

According to Latino Sport, the bigger Xperia Z6s might also sport a pressure sensitive display that now seems like the norm in flagship smartphones

The camera of Sony Xperia Z6 is set to beat all other snappers available on the market. The device is set to have the highest resolution at 23 MP.

Furthermore, tech experts said that the Z6 would likely go head-to-head with both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7.

As for its release date, Chinese news website cnBeta published that Sony's latest flagship mobile will be launched in June. The information came from an anonymous insider who spoke with reporters of the Chinese site.

On other hand, Tech Radar reported that the latest Sony phones will be unveiled at the CES 2016 or MWC 2016

As of now, there is still no official word from Sony for the release date of latest Xperia, so this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
