For avid PlayStation gamers, the holidays have already begun now that Sony announces that it will offer a one-year all-you-can-use PlayStation Now subscription for only $99.99. The fee, which translates to a little more than $8, would be less than half of what a subscriber would normally pay in monthly subscription fees alone.

The Japanese tech giant shared the news during its recent PlayStation Experience event on Saturday and posted details of which on its official PlayStation blog.

PlayStation Now is a cloud-based gaming service that lets gamers pay for access to select PlayStation 3 titles on either a per-game basis or through subscription. Existing members can purchase the new package to extend their one-month or three-month subscriptions to the new one-year promo.

Prior to this, Sony only offered PlayStation Now subscriptions at $20 per month or $45 for three months. The company says this discounted 12-month deal is a limited time offer, but did not mention when it might expire. When the offer goes live on December 8, users can pick it up here.

Aside from this announcement, Sony also added nine new games to the service, including two "Batman: Arkham" titles (Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham Origins), four LEGO-based games, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Mortal Kombat and F.E.A.R. (Single-Player Campaign Mode only).

PlayStation Now is currently being offered on a range of devices such as the PS3, PS4, the portable PS Vita, PlayStation TV, as well as some Sony and Samsung TVs and Blu-ray players. At present, there are over 250 games available in the PlayStation Now library with new titles being added on a monthly basis.

Sony's December promotions do not stop there. Beginning on Saturday until December 19, the company's current-generation PlayStation 4 console can be bought for a reduced price of $299.99. That is a $50 cut, similar to what Sony offered during its Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.

This trimmed down price applies to the "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" bundle and the "Star Wars Battlefront" standard edition package. Retail giant Best Buy will also give buyers a free copy of "Destiny: The Taken King - Legendary Edition" when they purchase the PS4 Uncharted bundle.

Furthermore, some retailers have taken a step further and offered an even cheaper PlayStation 4 deal. An authorized Sony retailer on eBay named "Antonline" now offers PS4 Battlefront bundle worth $289, $10 less than the above-mentioned promo. The deal will run until December 15 or until supplies last.
