Spirit West Coast 2005 in Monterey to Convene Thousands

Christian fans from across the West Coast will convene for the annual Spirit West Coast (SWC) Christian music festival for a time of good music, “fun and spiritually positive activity experience.”

This summer, July 28-30, thousands of Christian fans from across the West Coast will convene for the annual Spirit West Coast (SWC) Christian music festival for a time of good music, “fun and spiritually positive activity experience” at the famous Monterey Laguna Seca raceway.

In 2004, reportedly 90,000 people attended its two annual festivals in Del Mar, San Diego County, and Monterey, California. And since SWC already had its first annual festival in Del Mar this May, the Monterey festival will be the last of 2005.

Entering its ninth year, SWC has refined its festivals to become better each time to worship and glorify Jesus Christ through music and teaching. This time, the festival features concerts by many top Christian artists such as Mercy Me, Newsboys, Third Day, TobyMac, Jeremy Camp and famous worship artists like Chris Tomlin and David Crowder. Many insiders claim that the Monterey festival is the highest-quality Christian festival in the country.

In addition to music concerts, the festival features include biblical teachings by famous speakers such as Josh McDowell, Mike Pilavachi, and Erwin McManus because the Monterey festival is a “Christian gathering after all.” SWC reported on its site: “Since 1997 at nine festivals now, nearly 3,000 people have reported “trusting” their lives to Christ by making salvation commitments at Spirit West Coast.” On top of these usual activities, Monterey Festival 2005 will also present two new features brought by worshiptogether.com: Tooth and Nail Stage and a series of worship seminars.

Since it is a three-days-four-nights festival, attendants usually build their own individual campsites or live in hotels in nearby cities of Monterey and Salinas. Large crowds are expected to show up; to date, big churches in the West Coast like River of Life Christian Church has almost sell out its available tickets.
