The Blackhawks renewed their hopes to defend their title as the Stanley Cup champions after winning Game 3 of the series. Now, they are looking to square the series with Blues in Game 4. St. Louis leads best-of-7 series 2-1.

"This is a tremendous emotional and passionate series in three games," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said, according to NHL.com. "It's extremely close. I think that's, with the (Stanley Cup Playoffs), what makes it so special. You've got to find ways to keep persevering, find ways and trying to overcome what's come in front of you."

The St. Louis Blues have a chance to close the series if they are able to win two back-to-back games in Game 4 and 5.

In Game 3, the Blackhawks struggled with their power plays, where they went 0-for-4, but they had great penalty kill. This same trend reminds them of last year when they won the Stanley Cup.

In Game 2, the defending Stanley Cup champion lost 3-4 in overtime, and the ruffles between the two team resulted in an additional St. Louis' injury. Their captain David Backes was injured by Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook with an illegal hit.

In Game 1 of this Western Conference First Round series, Alexander Steen's goal 26 seconds into the third overtime for the Blues edged Chicago Blackhawks into a 4-3 victory. The playoff opening was definitely an entertainment thriller.

In Game 2, the Blackhawks will have their star player right wing Patrick Kane and captain Jonathan Toews back from injuries that sidelined them towards the end of the regular season. Meanwhile, the Blues also will have their captain David Backes and forward Vladimir Tarasenko back from injuries.

While the Blackhawks are known for making a comeback in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Game 3 win would be critical for their hope to defend their title.
