It is confirmed! Star Wars Battlefront is set to receive Rogue One DLC this holiday season. The movie tie-in DLC will feature the tropical planet of Scarif and Rogue One's main protagonist Jyn Erso. Now, here's what is currently known about Stars Wars Battlefront Rogue DLC release date, update and rumors on the web.

During the Star Wars Celebrations last week, design director Niklas Fegraeus announced that Rogue One: Scarif will be the fourth expansion of Star Wars Battlefront. He also added the game's fourth DLC will feature Rogue One's lead characters Lyn Erso (played by Felicity Jones) and Director Orson Krennic (played by Ben Mendelsohn)

Unfortunately, the director did not reveal the specific release date of Rogue One: Scarif other than "this holiday." The DLC's movie counterpart will hit movie theaters in December, so it is speculated that both will be launched around the same time.

The happenings in the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story take place just before the events in the first Star Wars film, "A New Hope." It follows Rebel Alliance's mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. Interestingly, this is movie is the first standalone Star Wars movie.

In related news, DICE officially announced when players can try the current Bespin DLC for free. PlayStation Lifestyle reported free trial of Star Wars Battlefront: Bespin will begin on August 19 until August 21. For those who can't make it on that schedule, there's another free trial on September 12-18.

The free trial gives players opportunity to check out the second paid expansion pack of the game, which costs $15. To enroll in the free trial program, gamers just have to make sure that they have the base version of Star Wars Battlefront game.

The Bespin DLC was released last month. It introduced new hero and villain character, and four new maps sets in the cloud city.

As for the third DLC of Star Wars Battlefront, the Death Star expansion is scheduled to be released on September. This expansion will come with two new playable characters, new weapons and more Star Cards. The new characters are Bossk the reptilian bounty hunter and Chewbacca.

Meanwhile, the brand new Skirmish mode is now available. This new offline game mode allows gamers to fight a team of bots, and can even play split-screen with a friend. The Skirmish mode is a free a download for all Star Wars Battlefront players.
