Christian NBA Player Stephen Curry Just Became First Unanimous MVP Winner In NBA History

After ending Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals with what can only be described as a near-perfect basketball performance, Golden State Warriors star player Stephen Curry has been named as this year's MVP. The awarding ceremony also served as a historic occasion as Curry became the first unanimous MVP winner in the NBA.

Being a back-to-back MVP is already an impressive feat, especially since he broke his three-point record last year. He also became an even more powerful force under the basket by averaging 30 points per game this season and by leading the Warriors to victory in 73 games, SB Nation reported.

He also made a huge comeback in Game 4 against the Portland Trail Blazers by making a total of 40 points with 17 during overtime. His performance during that game even left Blazers owner Paul Allen dumbfounded.

But, as basketball fans and everyone in the NBA know, these feats are normal especially when you're talking about Curry. This is probably why it didn't come as a surprise when the 28-year-old athlete received all 131 first-place votes as this year's MVP.

Other contenders to the title included Leonard Kawhi of San Antonio, LeBron James of Cleveland and Russel Westbrook of Oklahoma City but none of them stood a chance against Curry in securing even one first place vote.

For Curry, on the other hand, winning double MVP titles is all about inspiring the next generation of players.

"I never really set out to change the game," he said during a news conference according to ESPN. "What I wanted to do was be myself...I know it inspires the next generation. You can work every day to get better."

"When there are legends and people that I looked up to as a player - as a young kid, as a basketball player - Hall of Famers and guys that talk about our team, it means that obviously we're doing something good, so we keep doing it," he added.

As for the rest of the Warriors, the Golden State team is set to face the Trail Blazers in Game 5 on May 11. The match will be held at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.
