TCU's Annual Ministers Week Began Monday, February 16

Fort Worth, TEXAS – Annual Ministers Week of four-day training session at Texas Christian University’s Brite Divinity School began on Monday night attended primarily by First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ leaders

The event features lectures, sermons, workshops, and worship services in University Christian Church in Fort Worth. This year’s Ministers Week includes a new workshop – the Davis Worship in Ministry, which is established in honor of Gilbert Davis, former director of church relations at TCU.

Various renowned professors are scheduled to preach at the event making the sessions as informational as possible.

Monday's evening session already started with sermon by Dr. Dan Moseley, who is a professor of practical parish ministry at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. Dr. Moseley preached on the theme of Prowling the Back Roads: Soul Food for Pastors from the scriptures Acts 9:1-19. He is also scheduled to preach at 7:30 services tonight and Wednesday night.

Dr. Carolyn Osiek, Brite's Charles Fischer Catholic Professor of New Testament, who holds a doctorate in New Testament and Christian origins from Harvard University gave lecture today at 9 and 11 a.m. on Searching for the Historical Jesus and Two Portraits With a Difference – Luke and John.

Dr. Charles Kimball, a religion professor at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, who holds doctorate in comparative religion from Harvard University, will lecture at 9 and 11 a.m. Wednesday in University Christian Church's fellowship hall. He will be lecturing on Toward Understanding Islam and Jewish-Christian-Muslim Relations: The Next 10 Years. A Baptist minister, Dr. Kimball is an expert lecturer on issues related to the Middle East, Islam, Jewish-Christian-Muslim relations and the intersection of religion and politics in the United States.

Church consultant Dr. George W. Bullard will present two programs on Sustaining Vital Ministry at 9 and 11 a.m. Thursday in the church's fellowship hall. Bullard is an adviser to denominational leaders, a group process facilitator and an authority in conflict management.
