The 19th Annual DICE Awards is coming AIAS

Every year, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) holds the DICE awards to honor all the achievements in the realm of video games.  Those that win can have the honor of knowing that they were the ones chosen to be Game of the Year, which will inspire several games to have specially packaged editions, not to mention the accolade status.  The DICE Awards are very similar to the recent 2015 Game Awards, and this is what is known about The 19th Annual DICE Awards Release Date, Nominees, Livestream, and How to Watch Online.

A full list of the DICE Awards nominees can be found on Coming Soon, and the Game of the Year includes Bloodborne, Fallout 4, Ori and the Blind Forest, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.  There are many games that have received multiple nominations.  For example, Rise of the Tomb Raider leads with nine nominations, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has eight nominations.  Ori and the Blind Forest has six, Fallout 4 has five, and Her Story, The Order: 1886, and Star Wars Battlefront all have four each.  Those that have three nominations include Batman: Arkham Knight, Destiny: The Taken King, Rocket League, Lara Croft GO, Life is Strange, and Undertale

There will be a special Hall of Fame recipient award given to Hideo Kojima, the creator and auteur of the Metal Gear series.  There will also be a Lifetime Achievement award given to the late Satoru Iwata, programmer and businessman who served as the fourth president and CEO of Nintendo who passed away just last year.

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences will begin voting for the video game industry's premier peer-based awards show on Thursday, January 14th, at 3 PM PST.  "Looking at the nominees for the 19th Annual DICE Awards, I am especially impressed by the broad range of titles catering to gamers' increasingly sophisticated and diverse tastes," said the President of AIAS, Martin Rae, in a press release.

The 19th Annual DICE Awards winners will be revealed at the Awards ceremony on Thursday, February 18th at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, which will be at the end of the 2016 DICE (an acronym for Design, Innovate, Communicate, and Entertain) Summit.  The event will be hosted by Pete Holmes, a comedian, podcaster, voice actor, and cartoonist.

There doesn't seem to be any news on how to live stream the event, but considering it is over a month away, you should check the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences website to see if they can provide a link for how to watch online.
