The 2nd World Chinese Women Mission Conference

With the theme “Light up Our Passion for Mission”, sisters serving at churches and or having a burden for world mission are invited to join the second World Chinese Women Mission Conference cum Pastoral Workers and Missionaries Retreat organized by Chinese Coordination Center of World Evangelism (CCCOWE). The event will be held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, of East Malaysia and it would last from June 1-4, 2005.

Back in 1998, the 1st World Chinese Women Mission Conference received many testimonies from participants that the conference has helped them redefine their distinctive role in missions and promote missions in their respective regions. And this year, CCCOWE strongly encourage more Chinese woman Christians to partake in this army of evangelism.

“We sincerely invite sisters from all over the world to come to this tranquil setting to wait on God with a prayerful heart; by the grace of God, we pray that all participants could carry the vision gained at the conference back home where actions can be taken accordingly,” said Reverend John Kao, General Secretary of CCCOWE. Reverend Kao also suggested that over 1, 000 people are expected to attend this event.

During the four days, there will be singspiration, bible exposition, sermons and responses, seminars, workshops, missionary testimonies and missions celebration. English and Mandarin will be used as the two primary languages used.

The following are the major topics discussed at the conference:

The Role & Task of Women in Missions

Family & Missions

Serving God in the Latter Half of Life

The Academe as a Missions Field

Accompanying husbands are also welcome at the conference and specially arranged activities are available for them. However, it is recommended that participants check the details of the programs in case some unforeseen circumstances such as payment should pose problems for them. Detailed information of the conference is available at www.cccowe.org.

In addition, there are two other optional events pre and post the conference. Firstly, before the conference, from May 30 – June 1, 2005, there are pay short-term mission trips to the inland areas of Sabah. Each group of 8-10 members will be accompanied by an interpreter so that participants can communicate with the locals who speak Malay. This retreat is limited to woman pastoral workers, missionaries and wives of pastors who have already registered for the conference.
