Latest on Naughty Dog's The Last of Us 2

A few weeks after the launching of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, game developer Naughty Dog is now working on a new project, which is rumored to be The Last of Us 2. It's no secret that the gaming community is curious about the next installment of survival-horror series. Now, we'll give the latest update about The Last of Us 2 release date and rumors on the web.

Rumors about the development of The Last of Us 2 intensified when Naughty Dog game designer Emilia Schatz posted on Twitter that the company is looking for new game designers. According to her tweet, the new designers should have art and modeling experience. Given that Uncharted 4 has awesome graphics, it is not surprising that the company is looking forward to improving The Last of Us 2.

Furthermore, Schatz has approached Austin-based game designer Cindy To to join the Naughty Dogs' development team. To is an expert in level design, environment art, and combat design in Unreal Engine 4 and Unity. The recent recruitment drive indicates that Naughty Dog is already hiring people for the new project.

Once hired, new designers will create environmental layouts in the form of simplified level geometry. After that, they will perform extensive level play-testing, and they should be able to design gameplay systems, conventions, and scenarios. Readers who are interested in the job can sign-up here.

Meanwhile, it seems that creative director Neil Druckmann is excited to continue brainstorming for the next installment of the survival-horror franchise.  In an interview with Games Radar, he said before he came to Uncharted 4 he was working on different ideas about The Last of Us universe. However, "all those things were left on hold when he had to come onto Uncharted 4 to direct the project."

Many gamers consider The Last of Us is Naughty Dog's magnum opus for PS3. The survival-horror game has an emotional story, thrilling gameplay, and memorable characters.

The declarations of Druckmann and recruit drive of Schatz indicate the next installment of The Last of Us 2 is now in the development. However, Naughty Dog has not yet officially confirmed its existence.

Rumors around the internet also suggest Sony could give updates about Naughty Dog's next project on June's E3.

We'll give you updates about the next Last of Us installment as soon as we know more. Stay tuned with us for more info.
