In 2015, the television said a lot of good-byes to shows like Mad Men, and there were a lot of great new and returning TV shows as well.  These are the Most Anticipated TV Shows of 2016 including Colony, X-Files, The People vs. OJ Simpson, Vinyl, Fuller House, Westworld, Luke Cage, and Twin Peaks.

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride (January 1st on BBC):  Right from the get-go, Sherlock and Watson are back, and this time, they are not in modern times as they go back to their Victorian roots for one time only. 

Colony (January 14th on USA):  This science-fiction series created by Carlton Cuse deals with aliens who inhabit Earth and relocate the humans. 

The X-Files (January 24th on Fox):  Scully and Mulder are back, and they have a whole new dossier full of supernatural cases to solve. 

American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson (February 2nd, on FX):  The series goes back to 1994, with a lot of celebrities with Cuba Gooding Jr. as the title role, as well as other celebrities including John Travolta, David Schwimmer, Sarah Paulson, Nathan Lane, and Connie Britton. 

Vinyl (February 14th on HBO):  Martin Scorsese and the producers of Boardwalk Empire have combined to create a 10-part series about a 1970s record company president. 

11.22.63 (February 15th on Hulu): J.J. Abrams produces a work based on a Stephen King about a high school English teacher played by James Franco that travels back in time to the date of the title to prevent the assassination of President Kennedy. 

Fuller House (February 26th on Netflix):  DJ (Candace Cameron Bure) has grown up from her days on Full House, and she is living with her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber) along with her three boys.  Much of the cast of the original show is back, with the exceptions of the Olsen Twins (for now). 

The Catch (March 24 on ABC):  Shonda Rhimes, creator of Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder creates a show about a fraud investigator who may have been defrauded by her own fiancé. 

Westworld (TBD 2016 on HBO):  This new show is also produced by J.J. Abrams as well as Jonathan Nolan, based on the 1973 film by Michael Crichton.  The show has some controversial scenes, but it stars some celebrities like Anthony Hopkins, James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood, and Jeffrey Wright.

Luke Cage (TBD 2016):  After the success of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, the Marvel Netflix universe continues.  Luke Cage, played by Mike Colter, was introduced on Jessica Jones, and he had to make a fresh start after his own bar was blown up and his wife was avenged. 

Twin Peaks (TBD on Showtime):  Detective Dale Cooper is back, revisiting the city where Laura Palmer died, and a lot of strange things happen.
