No Man's Sky
One of the most anticipated games is coming in August 9, 2016. Hello Games

The year of 2015 was a big year for gaming with releases like The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, Fallout 4, and Halo 5: Guardians, but what will 2016 bring us?  The answer is quite a bit, and not all of them are related to any franchises.  These are the Most Anticipated Video Games of 2016.

Firewatch (February 9, 2016):  A lot of good designers came together to create this first-person adventure game that takes place in the aftermath of the Yellowstone fires of 1988.  Platforms:  Platforms:  Windows, OS X, Linux, and PlayStation 4.

Street Fighter V (February 16, 2016):  Most fighting game fans were looking forward to the return of this series, ready with some of the original fighters and some new ones.  Platforms:  Windows and PlayStation 4.

Dark Souls III (March 24, 2016 in Japan, April 12, 2016 Worldwide):  The fourth entry in the Souls series (Demon's Souls being the first) is going to leave a lot of fans craving its RPG and gothic setting.  Platforms:  Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Dishonored 2 (Q2 2016):  Those that want to see a sequel to the stealth/action/steampunk game will be glad when this gets released. Platforms:  Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

ReCore (Q1/Q2 2016):  There isn't much known about this game as the player takes on a female protagonist with a grappling hook gun and strange robot dog.  Platforms:  Xbox One.

Crackdown 3 (Q2/Q3 2016):  While Crackdown 2 was not well received, most Xbox gamers remember the first.  Perhaps this version will keep its big city exploration and other elements that made the first so great. Platforms:  Xbox One.

Quantum Break (April 5, 2016):  The makers of Alan Wake have made this particular one with a third-person time manipulation game.  Platforms:  Platforms:  Xbox One.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (April 26, 2016):  The last of Nathan Drake's adventures is definitely going to be a sellout game for sure.  Platforms:  PlayStation 4.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst (May 24, 2016):  It has been a while since there has been a game with the parkour moving Faith, but EA is putting out another one.  Platforms:  Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

No Man's Sky (June 2016):  Many have been awaiting this game, allowing the player to freely explore a universe with 18 quintillion planets, each with its own ecosystem. Platforms:  Windows and PlayStation 4.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (August 23, 2016):  It looks like Square Enix has at least one definite release date planned for this dystopian cyberpunk RPG series.  Platforms:  Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Cuphead (TBD):  This game uses some really weird early 20th century animation, and it shows.  Platforms: Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.

Horizon Zero Dawn (TBD):  This is a very in-depth role playing game with a hero that wanders through a post-apocalyptic land filled with mechanical things like robot dinosaurs.  Platforms:  PlayStation 4.

The Last Gaurdian (TBD):  This game is a follow-up to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, about a boy who befriends some feathered creature resembling a griffin.  Platforms:  PlayStation 4.

Nier Automata: (TBD):  Another game set in the Nier universe, this action role-playing game should be quite a treat.  Platforms:  PlayStation 4.

Final Fantasy XV (TBD): This one has been wanted for years, and even with the demo released for it, there still is no solid release date for it.  It will probably released either in the summertime or the holiday season, and Square Enix has a planned special event in March 2016 to announced the actual release date.  Platforms:  Xbox One and PlayStation 4

Kingdom Hearts III (TBD): Also a long-anticipated game, and also from Square Enix, this should hopefully show  up sometime this year.  Unlike Final Fantasy XV, there has been little word of it, so it would not surprise me if it was delayed until 2017.  Platforms:  Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The Legend of Zelda for Wii U (TBD):  First planned for 2015, the next Zelda game in the series after Skyward Sword would be designed for the Wii U, but any more delays, and it will be for the next-generation Nintendo NX.  Platforms:  Nintendo Wii U.
