SAN FRANCISCO- Following a seminar on homosexuality, the renowned Chinese evangelical Rev. Thomas Wang calls on all Chinese churches in the U.S. to realize the threat of homosexuality on the next generation, and to take a more active role in confronting the crisis.
Traditional Family Coalition (TFC) has held the "Understanding Homosexuality" at the Great Commission Center International (GCCI) in Sunnyvale Monday. Chairman of TFC Dr. Bill Tam pointed out that homosexuality is a movement that belongs to the Satan, therefore churches must awake to their responsibility and unite together to "say no" to such fallen trend.
All pastors attending the event have showed deep concern over homosexuality. They commented Tam’s presentation was very informative and has raised their sense of crisis. They believed that most Chinese churches in North America are lack of the necessary sense of crisis.
Looking at the homosexual movement, pro-gay activists are very united in fighting for their "rights" or "freedom," yet Christians or churches have not showed such power of unity. As a result, homosexual movement is allowed to spread out, and gradually being accepted as the mainstream.
"Chinese churches must unite; the most important thing is to realize that homosexuality is the work of Satan, and it has started to attack our children since kindergarten. We must battle against it instead of just defending, because we are battling against the Satan, but not the mortal man," Wang declared.
When asked about his reflection after joining the seminar, Wang reflected deeply, "Chinese churches have not been addressing the issue of homosexuality very well, we are very sorry for that. In the past, we have emphasized too much on kindness, righteousness and patience, yet now it comes to the time that we must declare a war against homosexual movement."
Wang suggested several ways that may mobilize the Chinese churches to take active role in the battle. First of all, it is to inform them about the crisis with the help of literature ministry. Secondly, churches should take the opportunity to address on the issue during some joint retreats or leadership training. Lastly, Chinese churches should be encouraged to breakthrough their silence.
Wang quoted the famous words from a famous British philosopher Edmund Burke: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Wang urged the churches to take actions so that evilness cannot be spread anymore.
Wang prayed hand-in-hand together with the pastors and Dr. Bill Tam. In the prayer, Wang admitted the sins of churches for not paying enough effort to confront gay crisis in the past, but now is the time to take up the burden once again and "say no" to homosexuality.
Acknowledged the difficulties in battling against homosexuality, Wang asked for God’s strength and courage to achieve the task.
