He may not be the best quarterback in the National Football League (NFL), but he is definitely the most honest and respectful.

In keeping with his Christian faith, Tim Tebow took to social media to thank the Philadelphia Eagles and Coach Chip Kelly for the opportunity given to him in his bid to make a comeback.

Tebow writes in his Twitter account, "Thanks @Eagles and Coach Kelly for giving me the opportunity to play the game I love! Romans 8:28 #Blessed"

Arguably the most popular quarterback in the NFL, Tebow made the post hours after the Eagles cut him on Saturday. The Philadelphia Eagles formally announced Tebow will not be their third-string quarterback and will not be joining its 53-man roster.

"Tim's really progressed but we didn't feel like he was good enough to be the three right now," Kelly said. "He just needs to get out there and get more reps."

The move came as a surprise as Tebow seems to be getting along well with the team during the off-season. In a report, the CBS Sports said that although the Eagles could still re-sign Tebow with the team later in the season, that option looks farfetched from Kelly's list of priorities.

"We're not done," Kelly added. "Whether we add a quarterback to the practice squad or the active roster, we will have a third quarterback in here," indicating that the Eagles are still on the prowl for their third quarterback.

Despite the cut and facing the prospect of ending his NFL career, Tebow still made a good impression in the offseason. He threw for 189 yards and scored two touchdowns during his final preseason appearance on Thursday against his old team, the New York Jets.

During preseason with the Eagles, Tebow racked up solid statistics and completed 21 of his 36 passing attempts for 286 yards, scored two touchdowns and one interception. Tebow also picked up 82 yards and a touchdown on the ground throughout the preseason.

After the game with the Jets, Tebow told ESPN he was not worried if the Eagles will cut him, saying he was leaving it all to God who continues to provide him blessings.

"I'm not going to worry about what I can't control," Tebow said on Thursday. "It's a blessing being able to come out here and play this game that I love. It was a lot of fun out there tonight. It was a blast."

He also quoted a Bible passage from Philippians 4:6 when asked to comment on his prospects with the Eagles. "I try not to be anxious at all," Tebow said. "That's what the Bible says. 'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.' If he said, 'Be anxious for nothing,' I'm going to try to do that."
