The much-awaited sequels of two iconic shooter games from Valve could become available early next year. Several tech websites say both Left 4 Dead 3 and Half Life 3 are now under development and Valve might release them in 2017.

Now here's what is currently known about Half Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3 release date and rumors.

Let's start with reports about Half Life 3. Many gamers expect the next installment in Half Life franchise will be announced in E3 2016, but it did not happen. Now, latest reports claim Valve is silently working on the project to surprise Half Life's avid followers.

Half Life series is one of the most popular shooter games. So it is not surprising many gamers really want to see its next title. In fact, there's an entire subreddit dedicated to track the latest developments in Half Life 3. The page has more than 27,000 subscribers.

Additionally, Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson expressed on Twitter how he badly want to see the next edition of Half Life game.

In a report from Rolling Stone, Glenn Lawrence, site administrator at the fansite ValveTime.net, said Half Life was a "turning point" for many gamers. The game introduced sophisticated narrative gameplay, new physics systems and impressive voice acting.

With pressure from fans, Valve might be forced to reveal its plans for Half Life 3. However, for now, we can only rely on speculations and rumors. If reports about the game's development are true, we could hear its announcement next year.

On the other hand, there's another shooter game from Valve that is reportedly in the works. Valve has been tight-lipped about the development of Left 4 Dead 3, but many gamers believe the recent leak is an indication that the game is now underway.

GameSpot reported a certain ValveTime user who goes by the name of Tristan Reidford accidentally leaked information about Left 4 Dead 3.  During the user's tutorial on Destinations Workshop Tools, a folder named "Left 4 Dead 3" appeared on the screen.

Interestingly, in an interview with goRGNtv, Counter-Strike co-creator Minh claims Left 4 Dead 3 is in development. In fact, he said the game "looks great."

Although Valve has yet to provide any official statement about the alleged Left 4 Dead 3 folder, it gave so much hope to many gamers that another Left 4 Dead 3 is now under development.
