Was Jesus Ever Tempted to Sin?

By Crossmap

Have you ever wanted to be perfect? Maybe you have even tried. If someone told you he or she was perfect, I am sure you would watch very carefully for proof!

When Jesus lived on Earth, He proved He was perfect! Satan tempted Him many times to do wrong, but He never did! One day Satan visited Jesus in a wilderness in Judea. "If you are the Son of God," he taunted, "tell these stones to become bread" (Matthew 4:3). He was tempting Jesus not to follow God's plan.

Two other times Satan tempted Jesus to become proud and show His power. Satan even tried to get Jesus to worship him! Jesus knew God's plan for His coming to Earth, and this was not it! He was determined to do only what His Father wanted.

Did Jesus ever give in? No! He could not sin, for He was God's perfect Son. He was exactly who He claimed to be, and He proved it! Jesus spoke the truth to Satan from God's Word. Satan eventually left Him.

Jesus proved many times His power over Satan. That is why the Lord Jesus can help you when you are tempted to do wrong.
