Was Jesus Like Me?

By Crossmap

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

What was Jesus like as a boy? As the perfect Son of God, Jesus was different from you in many ways. But, there are some ways in which He was like you. He had a human body that got hungry and tired. He could be happy or sad.

Because He had a human body, He "grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men" (Luke 2:52). These are ways that you should be growing, too!

Jesus grew in "wisdom." When Jesus was twelve years old, He went to the temple (place of worship) where He talked with the religious leaders. They were impressed with His understanding and His answers. This story is in Luke 2:41-52.

Jesus grew in "stature." His body became bigger and His muscles grew stronger.

Jesus grew in "favor with God." Everything He did pleased His Father, God. Jesus knew His Father was watching and helping Him all the time!

Jesus grew in "favor with men." Others admired and respected Him.
