Welch’s Bus Tour to End First Round

By Pauline J. Chang

The “Everyone Can Kingdom Challenge for Evangelism” campaign of the Southern Baptist Convention is well on its way, according to the SBC’s President Bobby Welch. Welch, along with a team of writers and supporters, has been on a national bus tour to promote the campaign to evangelize 1 million people in the US. In a recent statement, Welch said everything “has been well beyond expectation.”

"We have not missed a meeting. We've been there on time. Everything has been well beyond expectations," Welch told employees of both LifeWay Christian Resources and the SBC Executive Committee.

The tour, which launched last month, will be ending its first round on Sept. 10 in Dallas; the second round of touring will begin on Sept. 23 in Cabot, Ark.

The official “The Everyone Can” campaign will begin next year at the SBC’s June annual meeting in Nashville.

"We are going to do better than we've done before in building those bridges [to the unchurched]," Welch said of the campaign.
