Will Megan Fox and Michael Bay reunite in the much-anticipated Transformers 5?

Even while the fifth installment to the billion-dollar Transformers franchise is yet to start shooting, there have been numerous reports that Megan Fox and director Michael Bay will have a reunion in Transformers 5.

As reported by Movie Plot, Bay is aware of Fox's was a major factor for the box-office success of the Transformers franchise. He even casted Fox in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that was also a major box-office hit.

To recall, Fox and Bay had a falling out after the showing of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen and harsh words were exchange with Fox comparing the director to Hitler. The verbal argument became so heated that Executive Producer Steven Spielberg had to step in and removed Fox in the next Transformers, including the Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon and Transformers 4: Age of Extinction.

But Fox and Bay kissed and made up which saw the actress appearing the remake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which Bay directed.

So far, Mark Wahlberg has confirmed his return, as has the screenwriter Ehren Kruger. Wahlberg was also quoted as confirming Bay's return in the director's seat.

"I don't [know the status of Transformers 5]," commented Wahlberg. "Just that Akiva Goldsman and those guys are starting to write and break stories, and stuff like that. But Michael Bay is in Malta shooting Benghazi, and I'm in New Orleans shooting Deepwater. We'll get together when he gets back. Yes [I think he'll direct it]."

Paramount Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura also confirmed with Screen Rant that Bay is indeed coming back to direct "Transformers 5."

Di Bonaventura said, "I think it's one of those classic things where somebody reported that and suddenly it became our plan."

He added, "We have never discussed the idea of how to hand it off, honestly. It's not like we don't think, well what happens if Michael doesn't do it, of course you do. But we want to keep Michael on this, so we're not spending any time worrying about who could come in. We're trying to figure out how to keep him going and keep him excited."

Bay is credited for the blockbuster success of the first four Transformers movies. Transformers 4: Age of Extinction earned more than $1 billion across the globe and was the highest-grossing movie in China despite drawing negative reviews from critics. All the four Transformers movies directed by Bay made more than $3.8 billion worldwide.

Bay is currently heavily involved in the pre-production of Transformers 5 as he is still the movie's executive producer.  The director is working closely with Paramount's team of writers, including his protégé, Jonathan Liebesman and led by Goldman, who are now busy creating ideas for the next Transformers installment and possible spinoff of the franchise.

Meanwhile, Shia LaBeouf, who gave birth to the robot cars fighting each other via Transformers 1 & 2 has trashed the franchise in a three minute video clip showing him in a freestyle rap in park.

When asked about Transformers, LaBeouf said, "Nah, none of that. 'Transformers' is the dummy rap and I'm so past that."

Transformers 5's release is pushed back to 2017 as Bay is still finishing some of his commitments.
