Many tech enthusiasts are praising Microsoft's efforts to improve Windows 10. To celebrate the anniversary of the system, the latest update will bring great features and innovative improvements, according to company's official blog site.

Window's blog site said the Anniversary Update will be available for free this summer. Some of its key improvements are revamped user interface, smart notifications, universal notification syncing and enhanced start menu.

Furthermore, there are changes in Windows 10 taskbar icons. It will support badge notification to show alerts on each app, website or program. Imagine a Facebook icon with '5' on it signifying new notifications, or '10' on an Outlook taskbar illustrating new messages.

Forbes also reported that Windows 10 would not only be able to receive Android notifications, but also interact with them. The system will be able to reply to SMS message, dismiss reminders and more.

One of the major updates of the system is the Start menu, which will sport a couple of changes. Many users complained when Microsoft took away the Start Menu in Windows 8. Good thing, the tech company brought it back to Windows 10 with additional improvements.

The Anniversary update will bring an All Apps menu right from the get-go, eliminating the need to click the menu to open it.

Additionally, the update promises improvements to the Cortana voice assistant. If users misplace their phone, they can ask Microsoft's digital assistant to activate the device's location services and call the phone as well.

There are also several changes in Windows Hello. The update will introduce biometric security to apps and Microsoft Edge. With that, Users can easily sign-in from their devices with a high-grade security system. Also, Edge will have new extensions like Pin It Button and OneNote Clipper.

The update is still in working progress, so Microsoft encourages its users to give feedbacks. There is a feedback form on the new Windows Start menu that lets users suggest further enhancements. Moreover, free Windows Insider program members can share their opinions about the new features.

Users are often sensitive to even minor tweaks in the system, which the company expects when the update rolls out this summer.

Interestingly, Windows 10 is one its way to becoming one of the fastest starts in Windows history. Eight months since its launching, it has more than 270 million active users, beating Windows 7 within the same timeline by 145%.
