Volunteers from Operation Starting Line (OSL) and Prison Fellowship Ministries (PFM) visited four prisons in Gatesville, Texas, on April 10 and April 11 to host an Easter event filled with a Gospel message and worship to bring the hope of Christ to 3,600 women inmates.

Founder of PFM Chuck Colson and Mark Earley both delivered a Easter Gospel message at each of the four units.

The event was part of OSL’s Texas Easter Campaign, which consists of a plan to reach out to 32,000 inmates from 17 correctional facilities in central and southeastern Texas. The effort involves hundreds of volunteers from local churches and faith-based organizations.

The praise team included singers Justin Todd Herod, Mary Smith, Kelly Minter, Sherman Andrus, Larry Howard, and Leslie Kent, who all created a worship haven for the women inmates.

On April 16, Operation Starting Line, often called an “army of Compassion” will launch it’s South Florida-based prison outreach, involving 300 South Florida volunteers and more than 24 national faith-based organizations and ministries who will offer Bible studies and faith-based counseling to 21,000 inmates in 39 state and federal correctional facilities in South Florida.
