Actress Gal Gadot graced the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 with her presence as she joined the panel for the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ movie.

The 31-year-old actress opened up about watching a documentary about the late Princess Diana before shooting for the superhero film began. She also drew attention to the fact that she took inspiration from the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Princess Diana was involved in a car crash in Paris and passed away in August 1997.

The official ‘Wonder Woman’ trailer was released at the Wonder Woman 75th Anniversary panel at Comic-Con in San Diego on July 23, Saturday.

"Wonder Woman has the strength of a goddess and the heart of a human, she said she leads from her heart and not from her head, and I think the same is true of our Diana,” Gadot told the audience.

Movie helmer Patty Jenkins also discussed the values inherent in the film and said, "The world needs love and forgiveness in such a huge way, [Wonder Woman] stands for being loving and amazing and being incredible."

Numerous superhero movies led by male characters are being regularly released by DC Comics and Marvel; with this in mind, Gadot believes it is the right time for a female-led superhero movie to be released.

“Many times, (filming the movie) felt like we got signs from the universe. It felt like we were just a vessel for a greater story that we need to share with everyone,” the Israeli star explained. “It isn't about me as an actress or Patty as a director. It felt like, now is the time."

In the trailer, Wonder Woman crosses paths with pilot Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, after he is washed up on a beach. The superheroine looks surprised and says to Steve: “You’re a man,’ to which Pine’s character responds, “Yeah, do I not look like one?"

In another scene, Steve had questions about Wonder Woman’s father, but she only replies with: “I had no father, I was brought to life by Zeus."

In the midst of the male-dominated superhero movie trends, the introduction of Gadot as Wonder Woman promises notable change when it comes to image diversity. The actress emphasized such “important thing” as it is anticipated to deliver a positive impact on younger generations.

"Being a mother with a three-and-a-half year old daughter, it's really important for me that, it's really important for me to show her..." Gadot said in an interview with Cinema Blend. "Oh my God, it's really important for me to show her that women are great and women can follow their dreams and do what they feel like doing.”

The fashion model previously offered heartening words for other female individuals who aspire to become their best.

"I truly believe we are more empowered. We're also stronger, sophisticated and can achieve what we want. That's what I would like my daughter to know,” Gadot shared.

Wonder Woman is set for a premiere on June 23, 2017.
