WWE 2k16

WWE 2K16 will have over 120 superstars and divas. This latest news from WWE game developers suggests that the title will have the largest roster in WWE 2K history. Meanwhile, the WWE 2K16 release date is set for October 27, 2015.

The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. 2K Sports has not announced plans to bring WWE 2K16 to the PC.

Will WWE 2K16 Really Have 120+ Unique Characters

According to the latest tweet from WWE2Kdev, the upcoming WWE 2K title will add over 120 unique superstars and divas. Theoretically, players will have at least 120 new characters to choose from.

However, Inquisitr warns that 2K Sports may end up duplicating wrestlers using different skins - much the same way John Cena was replicated five different times in WWE 2K15. The publication also points out that some character may be added later as DLC.

Confirmed Superstars and Divas

At E3 2015 in June, 2K Sports confirmed several superstars and divas in the WWE 2K16 wrestler lineup. These individuals included Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Bad News Barrett, Paige, and Finn Bálor.

John Cena is expected to be added to the roster, even though he commands a controversial presence in the wrestling franchise. WWE 2K16 will have a more realistic storyline that may feature CM Punk and John Cena. Also, the gameplay mechanics have reportedly been improved.

Pre-Order Sales in Full Swing

Release date information for WWE 2K16 have been updated with major U.S. merchants including GameStop, Amazon, and Best Buy. The selling price for WWE 2K16 runs to about $59.99.

Cost of shipping will vary depending on retailer. Naturally, GameStop and Best Buy customers can save money by choosing the in-store pickup option.

Stone Cold Possibly Coming to WWE 2K16

There are rumors that Stone Cold Steve Austin will be central in one of the main story modes. This information comes straight from What Culture, which quoted a Memphis Cerrito Live Radio Show interview with Jerry Lawler.

"They're having in this year's game, a big Stone Cold Steve Austin Attitude Era section and they have me and J.R. back together again in the studio doing voice-overs for that," Lawler had said.

2K Sports did not officially confirm the WWE Hall of Famer in its lineup. Still, this has sparked much excitement amongst longtime wrestling-fans. Even Austin himself has teased about big announcements on Twitter, according to Wrestle Zone. Stone Cold's storyline is apparently set during the Attitude Era in WWE history.
