Who will be on the WWE 2K17 cover? WWE 2K17 News

Athough publisher 2k Sports and Developer Visual Concepts have not yet released the full roster of WWE 2K17, the recently released advertisements for the game are filled with clues. The cover reveal trailer for Brock Lesnar, for example, hints some of the new characters of the game.

Here's everything you need to know about WWE 2k17 release date, roster and new wrestlers.

Based on the latest trailer of WWE 2k17, fans can expect a couple of WWE legends in the game's roster. Kotaku spotted some of the clues in the trailer. In the 0:15 mark, the word "Spinaroonie" appeared in a ferris wheel. This is clearly a reference to Booker T's breakdancing taunt. In addition, there's a warehouse named "Del Rio Imports and Exports," which is a clue for Mexican wrestler Alberto Del Rio.

Additionally, there's a shot of Steve Austin's smoking skull logo at 0:25 part. After that, a more blatant reference to Big Show appeared on a billboard. Plus, there's a really quick shot of poster that writes "Brogue Kick Saloon" which is a reference to Sheamus' finishing move.

Aside from the wrestlers above, Bill Goldberg is also included in this year's roster. He is one of the big names that will appear on 2K Sports' wrestling simulation video game. His legendary streak in pro wrestling program gives him the rare opportunity to become WWE 2K17's pre-order playable character, which is only exclusive for towering figures in the wrestling world.

In an interview with Miami Herald, the wrestling legend said creators of WWE 2K series had been negotiating with him for years. They had long wanted him to appear on the game either as a cover athlete or as a DLC character.

After being hailed as WWE 2K17's new pre-order character, many wrestling fans believe the former WCW champion would be coming back in the WWE ring in the near future. During his years in the wrestling program, Goldberg faced some of the toughest wresters like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar, Triple H and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Goldberg's last match was against Lesnar during Wrestlemania 20, which happened twelve years ago.

Interestingly, well-known painter Rob Schamberger revealed more WWE 2k17 characters during E3 2016. At the gamer's conference, he painted the faces of John Cena, Ultimate Warrior and Sasha Banks.

WWE 2k17 will be released on Oct. 11 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
